Givt offers Givt4Kids (the “Service”), which is designed for families and churches to help children participate in giving experiences. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and share information from children under the age of 13 (“children”), and how parents or legal guardians (“parents”) can control that information.

COPPA notice

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires us to provide parents with notice of our data practices and, in certain cases, obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children.

This policy tells parents:

  • What information we collect from children

  • How we use that information

  • When we share that information

  • How parents can review, delete, or stop the collection of their child’s information

  • How we obtain and manage parental consent

This policy applies only to children under 13 using Givt4Kids and supplements the Givt US Privacy Policy for adults and teens.

  1. Information we collect from children

We only collect the minimum information that is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in the Service.

A. Information a child may provide in Givt4Kids

Depending on how your church and family use Givt4Kids, we may collect:

  • Child profile information (for example, the child’s name) if the parent creates a child profile

  • A child’s selection between the giving options provided by the church (for example, choice 1, 2, or 3)

Children do not need to provide contact information (like email address or phone number) to use Givt4Kids.

B. Information collected when a parent signs up

When a parent creates an account and adds a child profile, we collect information such as:

  • Parent email address

  • Parent phone number

  • Donation amount and donation frequency (for example, weekly amount)

  • Child name (as entered by the parent when creating the child profile)

  1. Automatic information collection

When a user (including a child) uses the Service, we may automatically collect basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service, such as:

  • Device and browser type

  • General usage data (for example, pages viewed or actions taken)

  • IP address and security-related identifiers used for fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and system integrity

We do not allow behavioral advertising to children in Givt4Kids.

  1. How we use children’s information

We use children’s information only for purposes related to providing and improving the Service, including:

  • Showing the giving options provided by the church

  • Recording the child’s selection so the church and parent can understand participation

  • Supporting the parent experience (for example, viewing a child’s activity)

  • Improving reliability, safety, and performance of the Service

  1. Parental consent

We obtain consent from a parent when the parent creates an account and adds a child profile in Givt4Kids.

By signing up and adding a child, the parent agrees to:

  • our collection, use, and sharing of the child’s information as described in this policy.

  • sharing the child’s name and participation (including the giving option selected) with the church connected to the child’s giving experience.

A parent may withdraw consent at any time by requesting deletion of their child’s data (see Section 6).

  1. When we share children’s information

We may share children’s information only as follows:

A. Service providers (internal operations)

We may share information with trusted vendors that help us operate the Service (for example, hosting, database infrastructure, customer support, and analytics for internal operations). These vendors may only use the information to provide services to Givt and not for their own independent purposes.

B. Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Givt, our users, or others, including to protect a child’s safety or prevent fraud.

C. Business transfers

If Givt is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

D. Sharing with the church connected to your child

When your child participates in Givt4Kids connected to a specific church, we share the following information with that church so they can view participation:

  • Your child’s name (as created by the parent in the child profile)

  • The giving option your child selected (for example, choice 1, 2, or 3)

We share this information only with the church your family is connected to in Givt4Kids and only for the purpose of supporting the giving experience.

We may also share aggregated information that does not identify any individual child.

  1. Parent rights: access, correction, and deletion

Parents may review, update, or request deletion of their child’s personal information at any time.

You can do this by:

  • Logging into your account and updating the child profile, or

  • Contacting us at support@givt.app

To protect children and families, we may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

  1. Data retention

We keep children’s information only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate operational purposes (such as security, fraud prevention, and recordkeeping). When the information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
